JJVL Adopts Two CARE Schools in Jamshoro

Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL), Pakistan’s premier producer of liquefied petroleum gas, has adopted two additional schools from the CARE Foundation in Hyderabad, Sindh.

Located in Deh Shah Bokhari since 2005, JJVL has been contributing to the socioeconomic development of the local community through multiple Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in collaboration with the Zohra and Z. Z. Ahmed Foundation, the local government, and nongovernmental organizations working in the education and health sectors.

JJVL’s adoption of the Government Boys Primary School Long Khaskheli and the Government Girls Primary School Shah Bukhari has been approved by the Sindh Education Foundation and the Sindh government’s Education Department. JJVL’s support will ensure the provision of free textbooks, uniforms, and modern amenities to over 300 students.

“CARE Foundation is the country’s leading organization for education which has adopted public schools throughout the Punjab, in Karachi, and now in interior Sindh,” said Sajjad Ahmad, CARE Foundation’s Project Head for South Punjab and Sindh. “The partnership with JJVL is part of our endeavor to assist the Sindh government ensure 100 percent primary-school enrolment in the province.”

The CARE schools are the latest ones being assisted by JJVL, which has been supporting similar education initiatives in Sindh and the Punjab. JJVL and the Zohra and Z. Z. Ahmed Foundation also support CARE in the Punjab, this is an initiative that serves another 900 students.

JJVL is an unlisted public limited company. The Pakistan Center for Philanthropy ranked the Zohra and Z. Z. Ahmed Foundation as the fourth largest contributor to charity among unlisted companies nationwide for 2012.
